I love to cook, and I know that the salt brings flavor of the food together. For Gerson therapy, the flavor comes only from the ingredients. In the beginning, I had a difficulty without the salt, but after a week into the therapy, I found myself started to appreciate the food. The physiology reason for prohibiting salt consumption is So, one must wonder where do we get salt? Gerson therapy also requires for you to drink freshly juiced carrots, apples, and variety green vegetables and that is where you get the salt. So far, it has been almost 5 months without salt and had done periodic blood test, and I have not had any electrolyte imbalances.
I started to really appreciate for food for what it is to offer. My daughter loves Hippocrate Soup. We make with organic
2 Big Tom tomatoes, chopped
2 Russet potatoes, chopped
1 onion, chopped
2 or 3 cloves garlic, crushed
just little bit of distilled water
and it is cooked at the lowest heat for 1 to 2 hours. The smell is incredible. I love to eat this soup after it has been through the food mill and add hot baked potatoes. Give it a try.
